some say love, i say fight

sorry for the huge gap! I won't be able to do a huge amount of blogging until my final exams are over, and sadly this post isn't the most interesting of posts! i will come up with a good idea soon :) in the Easter holidays, my sisters and I went to a biffy clyro gig at the o2 arena which was fantastic! here's some of the things we wore!

elizabeth went for a new tie-dye t-shirt from rokit under a sparkle & fade jumper and leggings

sarah went for a casual hair style out of her face

i wore a topshop t-shirt with a hoodie and a new denim shirt, also from rokit in london

i've only started wearing my hair down recently so i can finally wear hats again! out comes the urban outfitters beanie

as usual i wore all my rings, and used no7 stay perfect nail varnish, review coming soon!

a final piccy of all of us :)

sorry this was quite boring and had no point, i'm extremely stressed at the moment with revising for 12 exams, but will do posts soon i promise!!

the beautiful briny sea

today I have decided to do a make-up tutorial on an Avon product, although I believe you could recreate this look with 4 different shades of blue! I tested out my new Avon True Colour Eyeshadow Quad and got some pretty amazing results. It's on sale at the moment for an amazing £4 so I seriously recommend getting your hands on one (although it appears they have run out of this exact shade!)

So firstly, here's a photo to show what the set looks like, the box and the brush, plus a handful of other make-up I used too. I'd like to point out that I didn't have anyone to photography me putting it on so sorry for the lack of photos of me actually putting it on! I also never put on skin make up before my eyes in case I mess up, hence the dodgy skin until the end :)

In my hand: Max Factor Colour Blend liquid foundation; Collection 2000 Cover Stick; No. 17 Liquid Eyeliner; Naturals Collection Eyeliner Pencil

this is what I started with! a plain eye *note* I had already done my other eye at this point so in this tutorial I will be doing my left eye!

firstly I applied the medium blue colour to my entire eyelid (the eye on the right) and made sure to make it quite thick. here you can actually see the difference in how big my eye looks due to the make up!

next, I applied the darkest shade of blue to just the outside corner of my eye and blended it in. I also added the lightest shade just in the crease of my eyelid (you can just about make out the light white-ish strip above the main colours). I did this for a while until  I was happy!

I finally added a line of black liquid eyeliner, pencil eyeliner and mascara just to make my eyes stand out. the cover stick and foundation is mostly under my eyes.

a final picture of me crossing my eyes! you can see how I have done the liquid eyeliner on the top, and note I always only do the pencil eyeliner on half of my bottom eyeliner, I promise you it will make your eye look bigger :)

so that's it! my only bug bear about this set was the fact that it didn't come with any instructions and had to work it out for myself! but as someone who is big on eye make-up, I was really impressed and highly recommend getting a quad set like it!

what's your favourite eye make-up style?

it's a sicilian life

last week i was lucky enough to visit the beautiful island of Sicily and stay in the quiet but lovely coastal town of Catania! we had amazing luck with the weather and got some lovely sunshine as you will see in a couple of pictures. i had to wear pretty comfortable clothing to do physical activities like walking and climbing, but i managed to get a couple of snaps of some outfits!

note: in most pics i am wearing my dad's army jacket and a primark hoody/leggings

my sheep top from a small shop in soho, london

bird t-shirt from topshop

my dad's polo shirt

my faithful bowie shirt from my friend

this is more of a novelty pic but our group all bought cheap footie shirts, and i actually managed to choose a real madrid top which i wore to watch the game that night!

i normally have a middle parting so i changed my hair a bit and got a bit of a quiff-type style going on!

this was me jumping, just for fun!

a beautiful pic i got with my new camera

my friend got a very arty snap of the back of me!

finally, a pic of our lovely town :)

sorry for the many photos tonight but i think i managed to cut it down from the 500 i took quite well!! i had a really lovely time and now i'm back to reality, sigh! i will be doing a post on boots no. 7 nail varnish, as i am absolutely astounded by how long the 'long last' varnish actually stayed on! anyway watch this space!

stepping into adulthood!

on the 25th february, after a lonnnng wait, i finally turned 18! i was really excited to become an adult, mostly because it just feels like my life is moving up and growing up is really adventurous. firstly, my sweet sisters made this spread for me for when i got home from school - the cakes have 18 on them!

for my birthday night, i just wanted a small celebration so myself and my closest friends went for a meal and a drink and here is what i wore!

black dress from motel £15 || fur coat from asos £70 || nail varnish no7 (i will do a review post soon!) || same topshop shoes as before (not seen)

and of course how could i not get in my friend's gorgeous shoes, from primark! bargain!

so there we are, i had an absolutely lovely night and i am now officially an adult! i got some money for my birthday so if i buy any clothes i will do a haul on here, and i also received some make up for my birthday which i can do a review post on :)

huge handbag appreciation!

quite interestingly, i read an article recently about how bigger bags are supposed to make you look slimmer! whether that is true or not, i'm just really into this trend at the moment and have found some really lovely bigger bags that i would love to buy:

this bag is gorgeous, it would go with any outfit and would fit so many things in.

of course burgundy is still in at the moment so this faux-croc bag would go beautifully on a night out with some huge heels!

river island is doing some fab bags at the moment, and this is one of the biggest i've seen, perfect for a weekend away somewhere instead of a small suitcase!

and how could we not mention zara! to me zara is the hub of huge beautiful bags, and as soon as i've saved up, i'm heading there for a browse of the handbags.

here is the handbag i've been using recently, for school and just going out and staying out places. it's from estee lauder and i think my mum got it free with some make up?!

what bags are your favourites?

bold as brass

of recent, i have noticed that the newest big trend is bold patterns! this is always a tricky fashion i find, because you have to find prints that "work" amongst some truly terrible fashion don'ts.

i have been scouring the web and i've found some of my favourite BIG prints!

i'm absolutely loving dip hem skirts at the moment and i think this would go beautifully with a cropped top and huge hair

of course the patterns aren't just on clothes! these shoes would be perfect with some demin shorts and a leather jacket. plus everyone loves wedges!

this t-shirt is absolutely crazy! it actually has another pattern all over the back too, as you can roughly see over the neck. this, with black leggings and lots of gold jewelry would be stunning.
now normally i would never mix floral and stripes but i was surprised at how well this works! a baggy off-the-shoulder t-shirt and some flats would make a lovely outfit, and i can see new clashing patterns working together more.

again i know i've picked floral but this is still pretty bold! i haven't had the guts to get any bright jeans yet and am still sticking to trusty blue denim but maybe one day!

bold patterns are fabulous as i've hopefully shown you in a few examples, but the key is definitely not to wear too many at once - unless that also comes into fashion, so until then, watch this space!

i've also heard rumoured that kitten heels are coming back into fashion... don't worry, we're all crossing our fingers that this isn't true! i hope this has inspired you to get your bold on and invest in some serious confidence - it'll be bang on trend and look amazing!

starry starry night

hello and welcome to the first post of my fashion blog! i'm really excited to start it and will try and post as many updates of both fashion and interesting things happening in life!

this is what i wore last night to a party, i wanted a casual yet 'i really did try' look, so i think i might have just got it!

jewelry - models own from various shops || shirt - primark £12 || leggings - primark £5 || shoes - topshop £70

i have a feeling that the jewelry and shoes will be recurring features in my posts as the rings and earrings a regular wears, whilst the shoes are my absolute favourite in the whole world (even though i had to sell my soul, as well as 5 other pairs of shoes) to pay for them! the shirt was a great find, i was so drawn to the embellishment on the shoulders but the only negative is that it is made from silk so went quite static-y!

i am very keen on painting my nails so you will see how often i repaint them through my photos! i'm going to sicily in the next week so i shall bring back some lovely photos from that
